Gratitude

Written by Judy Hissong

Here we go – into another holiday season which is kicked off by Thanksgiving. Whether you just celebrated in Canada, or are beginning to plan for it in the United States, we all benefit from the literal translation – Thanks Giving. Giving Thanks. Gratitude. The physical benefits are clear – lower blood pressure, stronger relationships, better emotional well-being. Pause to give thanks for what we know and love about ourselves and our lives.

Not feeling it? Maybe you’re in the middle of crunch time right now, and you can’t see a single thing outside your deadline. Now is the perfect time to pause and reflect, so here are a few questions to get you started. My guess is you only need one to turn the feeling around.

  • Who was the last person you told that you loved them?
  • What emotion is your favorite to express?
  • Who is your inspiration?

We are fast approaching 2017. What do you want for yourself in the new year that is different than life is now? How will you pursue it, with the passion and courage of a child?
