What to do when grief arrives

Written by Allison Wolf

My Canadian Lawyer On-line magazine article “What to do when calamity strikes – and grief arrives” was published this morning. It’s about grief.  That emotion that emerges from deep within our animal bodies and shakes us to our core. You might find that it is valuable article for bookmarking and saving for when you or a friend needs it.

As part of my research I had a long conversation with Derek LaCroix, QC from the Lawyers Assistance program – he was very helpful. One thing I am certain of is that it is so important to connect with assistance when you are slammed with some serious grieving.  Grief brings up human experiences unlike any we have had before and accessing guidance and support from those who know the territory can only help.  I recommend connecting with your local Lawyers Assistance Program or a trusted counsellor or coach.

After submitting the article I was introduced by a lawyer friend to the former lawyer, now grief coach RayRay.  You can learn more about her at lossandfoundxo.com and also access some excellent resources on her site.  I have reached out to invite RayRay to contribute some articles for us here at Attorney With A Life.
